Executive Travel: Biscuit Trips! The Zanzibar Escape That Led To Business Prosperity

Updated: Apr 23

In July 2021, I found myself in Zanzibar with my sister. We decided to take a break from the busy city life in Dubai. Little did I know that this spontaneous trip would change my life forever, sparking a love for travel and starting my own business.

From the moment I set foot on the island, I was spellbound by its serene beauty. Zanzibar seemed to operate on its own clock, where the frantic pace of the outside world faded into insignificance. They call it Hakuna Matata, a phrase that perfectly encapsulates the laid-back vibe that permeates every corner of this enchanting island.

But it wasn't just the scenery that captivated me; it was the people. The warmth and hospitality of the locals were unmatched, their pride in their homeland palpable with every conversation. It was during one of these encounters that I met Momo, a Zanzibari whose passion for his home mirrored my own budding affection for the island.

United by our shared love for Zanzibar and a mutual desire to ensure that tourism experiences were not only enjoyable but also ethical and memorable, Momo and I embarked on a journey together. It was this partnership that laid the foundation for Biscuit Trips, a tourism venture born out of a genuine love for Zanzibar and a shared vision for responsible travel.

In November 2023, I decided to turn our dream into reality and launched Biscuit Trips. The name came from my usual habit of taking snacks and biscuits with me during trips. It was something I'd always done, and it felt natural to incorporate it into our business name. While some people found it funny, I found it nice and cute, a nod to the little things that bring joy during travels.

Biscuit Trips was our way of sharing our love for Zanzibar with the world. We wanted to create something special, something that would allow travelers to truly immerse themselves in the beauty and culture of the island.

Starting a business was no easy task, but we were determined to succeed. We worked tirelessly to plan and organize our trips, making sure that every detail was perfect. From arranging accommodations to planning activities, we put our hearts and souls into every aspect of Biscuit Trips.

And our hard work paid off. People loved our trips! We hosted groups ranging from just two people to larger groups of five or more. It was amazing to see the smiles on our guests' faces as they experienced the wonders of Zanzibar for themselves.

But more than just providing a vacation, we wanted to create memories that would last a lifetime. We made sure to include unique experiences in our trips, from exploring hidden beaches to dining at local restaurants. And along the way, we made new friends from all over the world.
